Week One

Welcome while I tell you how our first week in school went! As I was saying, the first day in school was one to remember. Everyone was greeted by our amazing ASB members and our amazing cheer team with blue and red balloons surrounding the students with ASB members handing out candies at our gates making our first day a day to remember. Also, this month's key is respect for August! Freshmen had to get to class and get their computers from our library, where our awesome librarians got to help them sign in to all the apps they needed for them to have a successful school year. Thank you, librarians! Now, let's move on to our sophomores. While some freshmen needed help, sophomores were there to help out with what they needed. Some of our sophomores helped out by taking them to class and even some of our amazing juniors and seniors helped out in what they could. Thank you sophomores, juniors, and seniors!

Week TWo

This week, our school had its first spirit week. It was super fun to see all of the students follow the spirit! Huge thanks to ASB for putting this all together. The following days listed are what the spirit week was about:

8/19- Inside out day

8/20- PJ day

8/21- Mean girls

8/22- Twin day

8/23- RED out day!

We also had lunch activities this week, including long games, music, and ASB members handing out otter pops, along with your favorite songs played during lunchtime. Thank you to whoever was able to assist. Also, shout out to AME for the music. We also had an assembly with a RED OUT! A red out is when all the students and staff wear red in the gym to support our school colors. It was super fun for all the students, teachers, and staff members. Our first game was ECV vs Crawford. This home opener had varsity wearing NEON for gameday, make sure to support our players!

Week Three

We had our first home volleyball game with Varsity and other teams of the volleyball game. Good job varsity for winning against Kearny Mesa High School! Today we had our first Club Rush, where all the clubs came and recruited freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Today was a very fun day. There were snacks and food, it was very fun to see everyone come together. Thank you, AME for helping ASB complete all of this. Time for shoutouts, Shoutout to our principal, Mr. Stirling, our vice principal Mr. Martin, Vice Principal Mr McCoole, Vice Principal Mrs. Foster, Vice Principal Mrs. Aguilar, and Facilities Manager, Mrs. Morton. Thank you for keeping our school clean and safe. Thank you for reading. Don't forget to be respectful, be responsible, and be BRAVE!

Week Four

Hey braves, this week we’re starting the Loss of Privilege (LOP). If you get over 25 points you will end up on the LOP. Being tardy to class adds one point while being absent adds 2. Make sure that you’re not late to any of your classes or absent to school so that you don't end up on the LOP. Being on the LOP prevents you from going to games or doing any fun activities the school offers, so make sure not to end up on it. If you do end up on the LOP soon, we do offer Saturday School and voluntary recovery. If you spend 30 minutes in voluntary recovery, it removes 1 point and a 4-hour Saturday school removes 8 points. If you want more information make sure to check your emails. Every student and parent has access. You could take points off and you'll eventually be off the LOP. Also Braves, we have an away game on September 5th for girl's tennis against Grossmont and a home football game on September 6th, going against Vincent Memorial make sure to go watch those games and support our players!

Week Five

This week we’re having an event to soak a senior. It's $5 for a bucket of water and you then get to pick which senior you want to soak. Make sure to come watch at lunch to see your fellow seniors get soaked or even be one of the seniors who are being soaked! Also, we have an away football game on September 13th, they're going against Holtville, so make sure to go watch that game and support our players!

Week Six

September is suicide prevention month, to show our appreciation we are encouraging people to wear either purple or teal on Wednesday, 9/18. Also, this week is a 6-week progress report. Make sure to turn in any missing work or missing tests to raise your grades so if you play any sports you can keep playing. If you already turned in all assignments and have C’s or higher, good job! Keep it up! Also, Homecoming is coming up on October 18/19! The theme is Hollywood night. Make sure if you want to go, buy tickets to have one of the greatest nights of your life! Have fun, and remember, be respectful, be responsible, and BE BRAVE!

Week Seven

This week we are going to be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Our band Los Aztecas will be playing their music on Live@Lunch September 27th during lunch at the quad. Make sure to go watch them and support them as they play! This live show is supported by AME in room 712 so if you have any questions about the band feel free to ask.

Week Eight

This week we will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from October 1st through October 31st, 2024. We recognize and acknowledge those who have beat Breast Cancer and battle through it every day. Breast Cancer was no match for you, and to those who didn't survive, they have made the sky beautiful and forever live in our hearts. If you know anyone who knows someone who is struggling with Breast Cancer, let them know they are not alone.

Homecoming is coming up, make sure to buy your tickets and ask your date out.
